I have a 93 9000cse that i thought the transmission was failing. The car has 130k original miles. the problem was that you would have to rev the engine to about 4k rpm before it would slowly start to move foward. After doing this a couple times, it would slam into first gear and would drive normally after that. It finally stop working completely one day and i had to get it towed. I got a used transmission from a junkyard and was able to put that one in. The problem i am having is that with this transmission i am still not getting any foward drive. I get reverse just fine. The old tranny had reverse also. I also noticed that my display where you see the check engine and gear selector (P,R,D,1,2,3) is not functioning now. When i installed the new transmission i filled the transaxle to correct fluid level and started the car while it was still lifted in the air. It seamed like drive was working just at that time. i did see the tcs light flash a couple times and i assumed that because the car was off the ground is why the wheels would not spin faster but upon lower the car i noticed that drive was not engaging at all. Is it possible that this transmission is faulty also? Is there something that might need adjusting? I did disconnect the abs computer beside the battery tray when removing the transmission. Could this cause the display to not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
